Michael's Story
Life
I am beginning my eigth year with the Santa Fe railroad. I recently promoted to Locomotive Engineer and now I operate freight trains over the mountains between Bakersfield and Barstow. I love the job!!!! My career affords me to travel often and I am always searching out new and exciting destinations to go to. I have travelled all over the U.S. and Hawaii. I plan on travelling to the Carribean in a years time and spending a week in our nations capitol. Although it is tough working for the railroad I find that it is reward...Expand for more
ing and continues to make my life that much better. I am still single. That part of my life will hopefully change but it is hard to have a relationship when you work on the railroad. Being on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week is brutal at times but you never can tell. I have had the chance to reconnect with several of my friends from school and I hope that everyone else I knew is doing well in life.
