Michael's Story
Life
Continuing to work in a recruiting/internet e-sourcing mode within the IT and Pharma industries. World travel, marriage, children and Christ have changed my life in the best way possible.
I continue through life learning from others I come in contact (why I love recruiting) and helping others in times of need.
Fins up (I'm a big Jimmy Buffet fan or a "parrothead"). As Cheryle Crow states in a popular song "It's not getting what you want but wanting what you've got..."

College
ASU...I didn't have my priorities straight and spent too much time rebelling against...anything and everything. I found I enjoyed working in a production type of role behind the scenes if you will. Video and Audio production was a hit w/ me. However, I wasn't serious enough to get more involved during school (I did DJ our local college station for a shor time). So, when I graduated, I was one of many who was hit in the face w/ the realities of life...you have to really work hard to find what you want. And what I want isn't neccessarily what God wants for me.
No regrets otherwise. It was another chapter in my life that has led to where I am now, and that is good.
Workplace
after graduating college back in '90 (bad timing huh), I moved to Las Vegas w/ my sweethear (now my wife) just to get out of the mtns. Ran a rent-to-own store in the northern area of Vegas (got to see some of the fun from the Rodney King riots).

e back to Raleigh, NC as family was just too important to see more than once a year. Struggled finding "my life and career" for a number of years bouncing from insurance sales to retail and other work.
Finally found my current calling in recruiting within the IT or computer industry which I continue to do so for the past 8 years. Was laid off back in '01 (per my request as I disagreed w/ the sr. mgt and it's direction) and was unemployed or consulting as we put it, for about 14 months.
I'm currently contracting as a lead E-sourcing recruiter meaning I utilize the Internet and basic business application s/w to hunt and hire the best of the best for Cisco Systems Sales arcross the nation.
My goal is to move into a more lead or mgt role within one of the big pharmas or tech companies here in the triangle as an E-sourcing expert.
My previous recruiting work led me to devising and implementing an International recruiting division within a large corporation due to the shortage of talent in the late 90's. I was blessed in the fact I enjoyed working w/ great talent from other cultures (mainly India, Korea and other 3rd world countries across the Asian area. Recruiting trips led me to India, S Korea and other interesting lands that changed my vision of life forever and in a good way. We truely are spoiled and blessed here in the USA.
LIfe goes on and I'm looking into other more technical roles that allow me to follow my heart of helping others in this wild ride of a life!
