Michael's Story
Life
I'm really at a loss of words. I've had my share of ups and downs, but life has been good to me. I have much to be proud of and look forward to what is ahead of me. At 62 I'm still very active and look forward to the days I can feel the sand between my toes on a full time basis. I've spent a great deal of my adult life on the coast at Ocean Isle, NC., and look forward to going back permanently, right now I settle for two to three weekends per month. My boat time is my sanity check and is good for the soul. My daughter Blakely is married living in the Richmond area, and recently blessed us with a grandson. My son Page is 23 and is doing software development work on the north shore of Hawaii , Not a bad work setup ...Expand for more
, I've been married to Mary Beth Ergenbright for 39 years even though it hasn't always been easy living with me. How anyone can put up with me for that length of time is amazing Life is give and take and we prove it. Every so often you think about the people you have known in life, and wonder how they have been. Hopefully in the future I'll continue to hear from some old friends.
Most days you will find me in Wood's Sandy Hook Store in Sandy Hook, VA. We 've owned that now for 31 years, and have seen many changes in the community. I love the early morning crowd, and continue to rise early and open at 5. I'll probably be there when I'm 90, as I can't see myself being happy with out that personal contact .
