Michael's Story
High School
i was inspired by two teachers. My Latin teacher, in who's class I pretty much failed miserably for two years, but came away with an immense vocabulary which serves me well.
And my Jr. year english teacher who drilled me in the fundamentals of writing papers, starting with writing parts of papers. Her drilling on those fundamentals prepared for me years of writing papers in college.

College
I had a roommate, in my first year in the dorm (coming in as a xfer student to Claremont, xferrng from Chaffey College) who made it his mission to try and drive me out of the room, so he could keep the room as a single. I outlasted him, regardless of how frequently and how loud he played Patti Smith late at night.
