Michael's Story
Where are all my old friends?
I recognize the names on the classmates site from 1978 but almost none of them are people I was close to. Come on folks, don't be shy, it's not high school anymore. Put some info on here. It would be great to contact some of my old friends. Where is Jeff Freeman, Russ Tyson, Scott Dylan, Ron Helber, Mike Stemple and Rick Blackburn.
Anyway, for anyone that cares I actually went on to some sort of respectable life. After high school I became a clock repairman, eventually rising to Certified status and finally forming my own repair business in 1994. (My Master Clock
Repair web site is pretty extensive and does have a current picture. They won't let me put a web address but you can google it if you care too.) Teach some seminars for my trade organization, AWCI.
I continued playing drums in various bands through 1986. Had a great deal of fun, made a little money but never had any dreams of stardom. Joined a worship team at my church and played there for the next fifteen years, and recorded a cd...Expand for more
. I have my own home recording studio.
Been married since 1980 to Candy Sherman. She was a sophmore at Groveport when I met her my senior year. After ten years of marriage we finally decided to have a child. Our son Christian is now 16.
Still go to concerts occasionally, still love hard rock music and really enjoy listening to classic rock to this day.
My wife and I love to travel. Have made a couple trips out west; Yosemite, Pacific Highway, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley etc., East Coast; Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach, Ocean City. Went on a Caribbean cruise - loved it! First snorkeling experience - awesome!
Although life is good, very good even, I remain nostalgic about the past and enjoy old memories and love to talk with old friends. My favorite song currently is "Photograph" by Nickleback. A great song about memories and rocks too!
Thirty years in a nut shell, there you have it.
Only friends from high school I have any contact with periodically are Doug McKnight and Tom and Paulette Hedrick.
