Michelle Wendy's Story
Life
I live in Lutz Florida, just outside of Tampa Florida with my life partner Lynnie and our Boston Terrier, Lucy. We live in a townhouse on the edge of a lake. We love the winters here, but the summers, and hurricanes are brutal. I miss Chicago almost every day. Three of my favorite Chicago movies are Blues Brothers, Return To Me, and About Last Night. Nice city settings which make me homesick.
School
I loved Sister Esposito at St Bonnie's. Not to fond of Sister Mark.
I went to Lane Tech and graduated in the music program in 1973. From there, attended UICC at Chicago Circle until 1977, then dropped out.
Returned to school in Minneapolis in 1991 and continued in Florida in 1992 through 2002, where I completed my BS in Accounting, an MBA, and finally, earned my Doctorate in Business Administration with an emphasis on International Finance from the University of Sarasota.
Now I teach at a local university.
College
College was mostly commuting. I would drive down from Tampa...Expand for more
to Sarasota for a week's worth of classes (8 hours a day for 5 days to attain the 40 contact hours). I did that about four to five times a year, depending on how much leave I had. They would pile a table full of fruits and snacks in the morning and that was supposed to sustain you through lunch. Most of us went into sugar comas at about 10:30 in the morning. I know this, because my note taking stopped right around then.
Workplace
I work for the State of Florida as a Tax Auditor for the Florida Department of Revenue. Right there, that should tell you just about everything you need to know about me. I mean, really, who would work for such a place? I ask myself this almost daily. And yet, 13 years later, I am still here. They have anniversary parties here, to remind us of our lack of adventure. They have cake and ice cream to tell us we will probably die here. Oh My God!
Military
I have no military service. I do not even own a gun. I have a heavy flashlight though,... just in case.
