Michael's Story
College
After High School I was accepted at the University of Detroit. I attended for three days, decided I wasn't ready, and enrolled at Schollcraft College for their 2-year program. Graduated in 1978 with an Associate Degree in Marketing/Applied Management. Returned to U of D in September 1978 to complete my Bachelor of Science in Marketing/Management in May 1981. Was accepted in the UofD MBA program in September of 1981 and attended part-time at night full year for 2 1/2 years and completed my MBA in Finance/Economics in May 1984. I worked full-time for BIC Corporation while in grad school.
Two months before I graduated, Chrysler called me to be in their MBA Recruitment Program. I rotated through a number of jobs before settling into Brand Marketing. I am presently the Brand Manager for the Chrysler 300--responsible for all aspects of managemen...Expand for more
t of the vehicle. I stayed at Chrysler for 24 years took the management buyout in 2008 and started a collaborative consulting group called CentStrat in 2009.
After 3 absolutely fun years of running my own business and being able to call my time my own, I have started my second career in digital and healthcare building the online and social media team as the Manager of Online Marketing and Customer Experience for HealthPlus of Michigan.
I was fortunate for those three years to have been able to enjoy my daughter's last two years of high school watching her competitively sing, play basketball and lacrosse, and now her freshman year of Albion. We spent a whole summer in travel lacrosse on the east coast in 2010 where she played goalie and was eventually recruited to play the game she loves as the first lacrosse goalie at Albion beginning this spring.
