Michael's Story
Life
Hi everyone, I hope youÂre all doing well. As for me, IÂm having fun. Sometimes I even miss the snow.
So hereÂs whatÂs been happening in my life since moving from Algonac to St. Clair in 1978. I went to SCCCC in Port Huron for 2 years and was in their art program on a scholarship IÂd won thanks to Mr. Jones and his encouragement to give art a try.
In 1980, I moved to Glendale, California outside of Los Angeles to attend Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. I didnÂt know it at the time, but Art Center was an incredible experience and has continued to provide unique opportunities for me.
From there I went directly into a job in the LA advertising market. After growing up in Algonac, 18 years in LA was like one long summer with a 5-week period every year of palm trees wrapped in Christmas lights. As a side note, if any of you ever see a movie called "Vampires on Bikini Beach" I play a doctor in it. Hell, I was living in LA, I think everyone's been in at least one movie, albeit this one wasn't porn.

o the Mountain View just below San Francisco to participate in the dot COM build up in. In 2001 we moved to Sacramento to avoid the dot COM implosion. Sacramento was a great place to live, a little like Algonac because of the rivers and very friendly people. I also had my first gallery show there in November of 2002 at the Barton Gallery. IÂd eventually like to make art photography my full-time job, itÂs still one of my passions.
Speaking of passions, Lynn and I were married in 1988. We don't have any children but we do have a brilliant dog named Rusty. He actually knows 56 words. We love to travel. Paris is probably our favorite spot.
In 2003, we moved to Chandler, Arizona 20 miles East of Phoenix. IÂm still in advertising but IÂm also working on my golf game. No one probably remembers this but I once received an award while on the Algonac golf team for highest score ever on a single hole -- 16.
Phoenix is beautiful and growing. Yes, it gets very hot here for three months and just okay for two others but itÂs absolutely gorgeous for seven.
