Michael's Story
Life
A lot has happened since high school. I've spent 13 of the last 15 years in school. (Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment) I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University Medical Center, and a recipient of the Mycology and Molecular Pathogenesis Training Program fellowship through NIH. My current research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis in the human pathogenic fungus Cryptococcus neoformans. , got married, moved to NC, bought a house, and had a baby. Now I spend what little free time I have playing indoor soccer, and helping teach my Sunday School class. Life is good!
College
Well, after graduating from UD, I spent a year at Colorado State University in the Microbiology program. Due to conflicts with my boss, I left and worked for a year at MBNA America. I was then accepted to the Plant Pathology graduate program at NC State University. I received my MS in Plant Pathology in 2000, and my Doctorate in May, 2005.
