Life

I grew up in Southern California (El Monte & Covina) during the 50-60's in addition to living in Oregon (Prineville) during 67-68. I attended 3 High Schools during my 4 yrs, graduated in 1969 and tried my luck at college - but ended up enlisting in the Coast Guard to avoid the draft. While in the Coast Guard, I married a quiet but fantastic lady, Judith M. Anderson of La Crescenta, CA. We have been married for 43 yrs and have 5 grown children (4 boys & 1 girl). Our oldest (Jeremy - 45 is married with 3 children in Coquille Oregon. Rashelle - 42 is married to a police officer in Holmen, WI and they have 3 children. And John is 38, working in Camp Verde, AZ and co-owner of a golfcar shop. Matthew is 32, married with 2 kids living in Prescott Valley AZ. Our youngest is Jesse - 30, who lives and works in Phoenix and a CNA for a large hospital. Mike retired from the Coast Guard in 1993 after serving more than 23 plus years on active duty. I started out in the enlisted ranks, went to OCS in 1983 and served 10 yrs as a Line Officer with 2 assignments as Commanding Officer of small Search & Rescue Cutters (CGC Cape Wash and CGC Liberty) . th a BA degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Camping. I have served at several Christian Camps in Alaska, Wisconsin, and Arizona. I retired in 2012 from working as a Deputy Probation Officer for the State of Arizona. I worked with juveniles btwn the ages of 8-18 in Gila County, in the town of Payson, Arizona. I was also a Certified Firearms Instructors for the State of Arizona Superior Courts where I train Probation Officer how to shoot and carry a weapon. I love to hunt, fish, and study the Bible. I miss the Pacific Ocean & being out at sea, I miss Alaska with all it's hunting and fishing and the snow. I also miss my children - having them so far away. I have a GREAT wife (Judy) who has endured many challenges throughout the past 47 years, and wonderful kids that a father can be proud to call his own. I have been retired since September 2012 and joining the ranks of full-time RVer's. we have been volunteering as camp ground host at Dead Horse Ranch S.P. in Cottonwood, AZ from Nov thru April each year. Would love to hear from people who remember a very short boy in High School, the service, or college.
