Michele's Story
Life
A bit'o bio...born Chicago, IL raised on Northwest Side, Logan Square and teen years between West Side Austin, a short while in Wicker Park (before it was hip) and Northside's Lakeview and Devon/Western areas. I've lived in Charlotte, NC continuous for the last 10 years. Was married to a Chicago teen so-called "sweetheart" and have 2 beautiful, intelligent and humorous boys. Later divorced after 10 years, I remained happily single until 4 years ago, now with a new addition - a vibrant, quirky, amazing 2 year old girl (happy for a little girl power around here). In the midst of a career makeover, I recently left banking (also after 10 years - gee, that must be my itch number) and am attempting to transition into the Real Estate biz. In the meantime, I'm enjoying mommy-hood with my kids and homelife more than ever before!
I love to write - poetry, short stories, essays, songs. I love to sing - had a brush with possible fame to record at Sony Studios under the direction of Teddy Riley but it never came through as he went into Bankruptcy Protection and abandoned the project. I have performed at a couple small venues for kicks. Can't tell you the name of 'em...but one was across from Wild Hare on Clark St. in Chicago on top floor and another was on Michigan Ave closer to River City. I am nuts ...Expand for more
about music in general and love all types. Being bi-racial and have lived multi-ethnic communities, I can't help but to love most types from Salsa to House to Hip-Hop to various Rock. Anywayz that's it for now.
School
A kid named "Sean" pronouned shawn. I guess he spelled it this way to stand out from the rest. He was my best friend at Manley HS. We watched "Full Metal Jacket", he called himeself "Joker" because of it (being an aspiring writer himself). He loved U2, INXS, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Not too many eh, em...African-American males on the West side was about that, for sure. He was a writer and a poet. He wanted to attend film school. I loved him so much for that. How bold. Brave for 'round K-Town. Miss him much and think about him often. I moved to Charlotte, NC. We kept in touch until after graduation 1990. After that we lost ties. I moved back to Chi-town for a lttle while, but returned to Charlotte, NC as an adult.
