Michelle's Story

Life I lived in Millard South and attended Norris Elementary (maiden name: Neu) in Millard from 1972 until 1976 (K-3rd grade). My friends were Meegan Bendorf, Christine Mass, Chris Kems, Belinda Becker, Tommy Lindley, Tommy McNally, and Julie Ehlers. It makes me smile to recognize some names and see pictures of my former Norris classmates on this website. :o) My father was transferred to the panhandle of NE at the beginning of my 4th grade year (1976). We moved to Mitchell, NE and I graduated from MHS in 1985. Went to college at Chadron State College for one year 85-86. "Fell into" optometry in 1987 and have been there since. I love love love my career as a certified optician and paraoptometric assistant and am now certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant. I was recently humbled by being chosen as the 2009 Colorado Paraoptometric Assistant of the year. ...Expand for more
I have two beautiful, well behaved, loving teenagers, Trevor and Meeghan (my daughter is named after Meegan B. from Millard). We found out Meeghan is hard of hearing when she was two. She is mainstreamed in public school, and as you can imagine, Trevor is "the" quentissential protective older brother. They participate in school sports, band, scouts, community activities, deaf/hh camps, and their Catholic youth group. Trevor graduated in May 2010 from high school. Meeghan will graduate in 2012. They are a total blast to be around and I am so proud of the young adults they are becoming!! :o) As of Oct 09, I am back in western NE. In Nov 09, I remarried to Tracy Ray from Scottsbluff (SHS '85). I knew him in HS and we dated for a short time during the summer after college. We found each other again of Facebook. I have to admit, I love my life!! :o)
