Michelle Flaherty:  

Born in Ukiah, California, lived with grandparents in Willits, California until 4th grade then moved to Hollister, then moved down to Bellflower where I started my 6th grade at Will Rogers Elementary school. My dad told me I had been in 13 different states but don't remember many of them. Attended Mayfair High School in Lakewood from 9th through 12th grade. Found learning was my passion, with a desire to continue my education and achieve my Bachelor's degree. Worked and went to school part-time for many years. I received my Associate's degree at Cerritos Jr. College and went on to Cal State Fullerton. I accepted a promotion with a company that I was working for and relocated to Long Island, New York, Received my Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Business Economics in 1990. I was out of school for 1 year and decided to go back and get my Master's degree - which I received in 1998.
