Michelle's Story
Life
After high school I attended a local community college. I switched majors from Dietetics to Engineering. I transferred to and graduated from Mizzou in 1992 with a BSEE. I obtained a job in Kansas City and lived there for two and half years until my first son Dustin was born. I returned to St. Charles and after a few months landed a job with Impact Technologies in Chesterfield. A few years later my second son Nicholas was born. I worked for Impact for over nine years and left for a short period contracting position with a Boeing subsidiary. I then accepted a position as a Project Manager and Software Developer at Appointlink. With the support and encouragement from my closest family members and friends I married the only man on this earth worth having (all my friends and family agree). My children are now 13 and 9. I devote my life to my children and my husband. Those closest to me are my source of inspiration, my lifeline and source of passion. Their devotion, love, commitment and support helped me recognized the mistakes of my past and become a better wife, mother, relative and fri...Expand for more
end. My incredible support line of friends and family gave me the confidence to be a Cub Scout leader, earn my Masters degree and my PMP certification.
School
If I could I would definitely do it all over again.
College
In 2004 I returned to college to obtain my Master's degree in Project Management. I graduated in June of 2006. After some part-time work and degree changes I managed to obtain my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1992. In between obtaining my Bachelor's degree and returning to college for my Master's degree I earned the Chancellor's Certificate in Computers from UMSL's Microcomputer program.
Workplace
I am currently a Project Manager/Software Developer for Appointlink, a small company in Brentwood. Before accepting a position with Appointlink I worked for 6 months performing software testing for CDG, a Boeing subsidiary. Prior to that I was a software developer and web application developer for 9 years with a small company in Chesterfield. I recently obtained a Project Management Professional Certification with the Project Management Institute.
