Michelle's Story

Life I've never liked the idea of writing down one's "bio" because words can't demonstrate a person's quality of life but only quantifies the lack thereof. "Just cover the highlights" is what I'm told but those details leave out so many important aspects that make one's life good or bad, happy or sad. So let me say, I've lived and loved and am loved by a wonderful husband and three beautiful children who keep me busy being Mom Taxi and PTO Queen. On top of all that, I also share my love of reading and writing at the college level by torturing students with homework and tests. Since leaving Parsons High school, I've grown older, made mistakes and gained much needed wisdom. Oh, I also grabbed a couple of degrees along the way. Before pursuing the easy life of a mother/housewife, sitting around eating ice cream all day and watching soaps, I hosted a couple of careers, filled my pocket book but not my soul. The soul fulfillment wouldn't come along until motherhood. On one or more occassions I've blamed my natural blonde streaks for any stupidity or ignorance and I've even resorted to utilizing these natural blonde streaks to my advantage although this does not work on my children and rarely on my husband any more. I torment my friends with humorous tales from my life. What can I say, funny and strange things always seem to happen to me. I claim I'm always in the middle of excitement because...Expand for more
I'm so observant. My friends claim I'm too nosy for my own good. But I can't help it. I'm a writer. Writer's are naturally curious. Besides, how is it being nosy when a man in his birthday suit runs out in front of you, stops traffic and begins to attack cars. Just because I jumped out to subdue him and then spent the time waiting for the police to show up by asking him questions about his life and why he decided to go without clothes for the day doesn't mean I was being nosy. I was just passing the time until law enforcement showed up. Oh, did I mention I write. Could you have guessed that yet? Overall, my life has been good . . . very good and getting better all the time. Would I have done anything different? Oh yeah!! I would have asked my high school crush out. No, I would have gone up and kissed him silly and if the kiss was good, then I would have asked him out. I would have trusted people less but then would be missing some wonderfully flavorable ideas for characters in my stories. I would have taken more chances, probably crashed and burned often but definitely would have leaped a lot and done less thinking before acting. But then if I had done anything different in my life I wouldn't be where I am now, would I. My only real regret is that I lost touch with so many people along the way. So, Jane and Lupe, if you are out there, I miss you guys. How's that for a bio?
