Michelle's Story
Life
I remain essentially rootless; addicted to travel and the edge it gives you. IÂm proud to say, IÂve now been around the world almost as many times as my luggage. nsic Anthropology in Fairbanks, Alaska where itÂs colder than a RepublicanÂs bum! (Just in case youÂre curious, that translates to about -49 F.) I work in the forensic sciences analyzing human remains for medico-legal purposes. I am also working on a project analyzing the DNA of the Chinchorro mummies from northern Chile, the oldest mummies in the world. Additionally, I work for the Center for Alaska Native Health Research examining obesity and diabetes in YupÂik villages. I remain happily married to a man I dated for over 14 years. There are presently two large moose inhabiting my backyard, my truck in buried in more snow than I am tall, and IÂm about to slip into a parka two sizes larger than most opera singers, but life is good.
