Michelle's Story
Well went a little party crazy after high school, no surprise there! Had my son (Jason)at 22years old, pride of my life! Went to Ivy Tech at 22yrs old for computer programming. Was friends with my husband at 19, but had to get the wild spell out, he waited, then we got together when I was 24 and am still with my wonderful husband, whom I love dearly! About 15 years ago I started a not-for-profit animal rescue/rehabilitation/rehome org. (visit my website: acritterschance) I am extremely active in rehabilitating native Indiana wildlife, rescueing non-native exotics and farm animals from the wilds of IN where they don't belong. I rescued a 10' Red Tail Boa Constrictor last year someone dumped at the Brown Co Campground in the Park and a couple of years ago, I rescued a 18 1/2' Burmese Python, so I guess I still live on the edge. I also rescue alligators, donkeys, monitors and many other species that society has no business with! It is my world now and my passion in life, those who remember...Expand for more
me know how I have always been involved in rescueing animals, even back in school. So anyways, I take a lot of education to keep up my knowledge on them, I worked at at Exotic Vet Clinic as an exotic vet tech for many many years and am always going to school for something! Guess you could say I have changed quite a bit, still fiesty and speak my mind, but at the right time and place, comes with age I suppose. As of now I am a trainer/presenter and I now teach others about how to rehabilitate, the proper permits required and schooling they need and so forth. KInda different now that I am a teacher of animals, my respect for the teachers we had, has soared! Anyways, thats part of what I have been up to, can't put all of it, no room! But life is good and I have an amazing and supportive husband and son who adore me as I do them and isn't that life's biggest joy, the love of your family!
