Life
Just an FYI- I am not a premium member, I don't have any perks here so I can't see who was by or who is requesting things from me.
I was visiting Portsmouth today, and got to thinking about the past, and decided to look some people up.
I recently moved to Durham, having spent the last 8 years in Deerfield, it was time to move back "home" so to speak. We are in the process of purchasing a farm, which we hope to make productive again, raising a few animals, and my dream greenhouses for native New England plants.
I have been married for 13 years come June (Some of you may know him Casey Whisnant, we met in high school and though we were not sweethearts then...we pretty much have been ever since), we have a 7 year old son, who is a big part of the reason for our lifestyle change. We wanted him to grow up in an area with lots of opportunities to learn and explore, and with 75 acres, we just hope not to ...Expand for more
lose him!
At the moment I am working in Concord, I love the dichotomy of my life of being the farm girl mornings and evenings, and yet in the middle of the day working in the corporate world. Though at times, I go into work, and someone has to tell me I have hay in my hair, but they are used to it.
We have horses on the farm, a Overo Paint, and an Appaloosa. I love getting up bright and early, watching the mist rise in the meadows and how they gallop across the fields to greet me. Soon we will have chicks for eggs, and if we can convince our son that pigs are food, not pets, a nice hunk o' bacon living at the far end of the pasture.
I never realized how much I miss the Seacoast, until coming back, I don't think I will ever leave again!
Update-
The chickens have arrived We have 15 week old chicks of various breeds. I have told all the babies they best be pullets...or they are going to be dinner.
