Midge's Story
I can’t believe I have been a So Cal girl for 7 years. Moving to San Diego was one of the best decisions of my life. This is the first place I’ve lived where I feel like I fit regarding climate, religion and politics.
San Diego has so much to do. Seeing one of Neil Diamond’s last concerts, Andrea Bocelli and Pageant of the Masters are a few of my adventures. I’m hoping to see Gordon Lightfoot next. I have been doing a lot of camping to National Parks and Bryce has officially replaced Glacier as my most favorite place on earth. I would love to go to Poland and research the grandfather I never knew. I always thought I was Russian but Ancestry confirms all grandparents came from Poland.
I visit my 3 grandchildren in North Carolina about 3 times a year and spent a week with them in May. I hadn't seen them in about a year because of Covid and they grew so much. Teo, age 5, took such good care of me, kept covering me so I wouldn't be cold. I can't wait until they are eligible for their Covid vaccines so they'll be safer.

ieve they are both teenagers already.
I have 2 cats who greet me at the door when I come home and think they are lap dogs. I just rescued two dogs, an Affenpinscher who was rescues from a puppy mill and a Yorkie whose person died. They are so much fun and I am humbled because the Yorkie is way smarter than I am. I’m still doing a lot of wire weaving and pampering my hibiscus, roses and succulents. My motto is still “Plant your own gardens and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers”. So far it’s working for me and life is really great! During Covid my son told me I really needed to do something to strengthen my heart and lungs. I decided to landscape my neighborhood, hauling gravel and rocks from our landfill, about 4 days a week for 5 months and another 6 weeks this year. I planted succulent cuttings from my collection and my daughter's yard and I think it looks really good. It makes up for the fact that I no longer have a yard.
My 23 and Me report told me that I have the same gene variant as found in the world’s best athletes. I really need to start running sprints😏
