Miguel's Story
Life
Life has been wonderful. Not, exactly as picturesque as a bowl of cherries, but beautiful none the less. I currently live in southern California. I do not have any pets or children unfortunately. I am living out my childhood dream of flying and for this reason I am happy for the choices that I have made in my life.
After high school I putted around the local junior colleges much like every one else. I enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve to help bring focus to my life and financial aid. I then followed one of my best friends to the University of West Texas A&M and received a BS in Biology. No, I am not an Aggie but would have been proud to have been. Upon graduation I received my commission as an Officer in the Marines. I later went on to flight school and received my wings in March of 2003. as and could not have been happier. I reported to my squadron in October that year. A full year had not quite passed when I first deployed to Iraq.
Prior to leaving for Iraq I married a woman that I met just after high school. We attended each other's high school reunions. Which I may add was wonderful I enjoyed seeing old friends from the past. I only wish that more class mates would have attended. There were so many people that I would have liked to have seen. After all these years it is funny the small things you remember and long for. Recently I have been craving the cinnamon rolls from the cafeteria.
I am no longer married and waiting my second deployment to Iraq. I hope to return home some time in the next few years during home coming. I would really love to have an excuse to hit the caf' one last time for a cinnamon roll or two.
