Mikaeel's Story

Came to Tech in late 85' when they used to lock up all the doors and had police posted at the main and would bring dogs to sniff lockers for drugs, everyone was a so-called 'Hustler'... that's my first memory of Tech. My mom graduated from Tech, class of 68' and two of my aunts graduated from Tech early 70's. I grew up near Langdon Park on Franklin St. and a few blocks from Montana Ave. and Brentwood. Went to Langdon Elem., Taft for a year, transferred to Maryland schools and then back to DC. Loved JROTC, AP English, Trigonometry with Ms. Braxton and AP chemistry. Mr. Stills cursed me out when he found out I signed up for the Marine Corps instead of college. I was known for being quiet except around people I really knew, also a flirt, some things don't change. I waited until senior year to skip school a lot since Master Gunny would take my car keys in the 11th grade when I drove to school. Most times I lied to him and told him I didn't drive and parked a few blocks away on 2nd St. Used to love telling girls "hell no" when they asked me to drive them somewhere at lunch or after school, especially when they only talked to me after they knew I drove. Went to boot camp at Parri...Expand for more
s Island, SC and graduated Honorman, then graduated 1st from Communications school, then became a communications instructor before going to first Gulf War. Heard Min. Farrakhan in Dec. 1990 and got out of the service in 1993 after deciding not to make it a career. I'm currently divorced, have children, and living in Decatur, GA looking to do executive protection for high profile clientele again. Teach martial arts in my spare time (been doing that 25 years now) and work out and train faithfully myself. My oldest 2 children are now in college (Spelman, and Bowie State). Been a rough 20 years since graduation but I count my blessings. I visit DC from time to time and hang with a few friends and family. Interested in seeing some old familiar faces and laughing about the simple things and simple people that went to Tech. If you still have unresolved childhood issues, are an alcoholic, or you're currently on behavior modifying medication... I am not your therapist, keep moving, may God help you because I won't. If you remember me and we got along feel free to hit me up. I miss DC but everytime I come home something reminds me of why I left, so don't be one of those reasons. Peace.
