Mike's Story
quit school in 64 joined the navy. ended up doing 34 months in nam. i was a river rat for most of that time. spent 21 years in the navy retired in 85. 100 combat related. finished high school and got a degree in college. when i was in high school i was not at the top of the social reg laugh. i was a bum not from a very good family. pretty smart but to smart for school and home. figured i would run off and see the world. i would have been in the class of 65. most people just looked at me and laughed. i came from a family of 5 other brothers and sisters. i ended up fighting all their battles...Expand for more
for them. won a lot of the fist fights. was sure not what you would call bad though. lot were worse than me in that line.
learned a lot over the years. there were some of you i had a crush on, girls that is laugh. but you never knew it. rosar and a few others i can not remember their names. over the years i have accomplished a lot. most things most of you have never done. i was a tug boat skipper for 5 years and harbor pilot for about 5 years. i enjoyed my time in the navy, except the time in nam. that robbed me of something. just have not found it yet. how many of you remember me laugh
