Mike's Story
Life
Met my Spouse through my personal ad in the Quad City Times. We talked several times then met at Theo's Java Hut. It sounds cliched but it was an almost instant fit. We dated one and 1/2 years including a three month engagement. We were married at The Abbey in Bettendorf but not without problems. We got back after the rehearsal dinner and found out that there would be no one to marry us. He had to leave town. Found someone else though and everything was set...until they wanted the marriage license which was back at my home, one half hour away. The wedding started just a little late and went on without any more problems and now my wife Lori and I have been married eleven wonderful years. We celebrated our 10th in Paris.
My Pets
lots of cats ranging in age from 14 years to two. I also have a 150 gallon aquarium with Mbuna cichlids in it.
My Job
I'm a Master Control Technical Director at Comcast Sports Net/Chicago.If you're watching the Sox, Cubs, Hawks, Bulls, Fire, Rush, Bandits, Sky, Shamrox, Machine or anything else on Comcast Sports Chicago, it's me at the controls. Master Control (where I work) probably has about a $1,000,000 worth of equipment in it. We use four different computer systems. I spend a great deal of time down-linking and formatting satellite feeds. We have 3 satellite dishes, 7 satellite receivers, six dss dishes and three vvyx lines. We also have various lines coming in from all major v...Expand for more
enues in town. We have 9 tape decks in Master including 2 HD decks that we use for stuff going to air or for recording downlinks. We mostly use digital(SX) decks in Master Control and most of our stuff that we downlink is recorded on digital decks. All of our commercials are digital and are stored on a hard drive. We also have 4 60 inch flat screen plasma monitors to go with surround sound audio here in Master. We sure like doing those HD games.
Achieving a dream
My wife, Dr. Lori(a veterinarian) and I just purchased a practice (4/07).It is feline only. We also bought the building and surrounding property which makes us landlords as well. The only downside is that we may have to become Republicans. The practice also came with clinic cats including Moo Moo, whom I believe the Bears are counting on to become their entire starting offensive line. Anyway, if you live in or near Oak Park, Il. and have a cat, please bring him or her to The Cat Practice. Lori is a wonderful doctor and I'm not saying that just because she's my wife or because we now have a huge mortgage.
Since I'm too cheap to join classmates, if anyone would care to contact me, here is what you can do. Go to catpracticeoakpark.com, click on "contact us" and sign the guestbook. Sooner or later, one of the cats will reply.
My "now" picture is actually me. I know, it's hard to believe that I'm still so handsome. "Then" is Lori, the love of my life.
