Mike's Story
Graduated 1966 with B.A. Chemistry, Earlham College. Graduate work at Kansas University (1967-1968). Drafted U.S. Army 12th Military Police Detachment, Criminal Investigation Division, SE Asia (1968-1970). Married Judy Marie Butts (1970). Two daughters, Sheryl (1973) and Kara (1976). Worked in insurance, construction machinery and automotive industry (1970-1990). 1992). Worked part-time as a deputy sheriff for Newton County Sheriff Department (1990-2008). Finally, worked as a forensic chemist, crime scene investigator and assistant lab director for the Missouri Southern State University Regional Crime Lab (1992-2008) and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab (2008-2010). Currently retired, a Missouri Master Naturalist and doing volunteer work for the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Neosho National Fish Hatchery.
