Mike Henley:  

I am grateful for the opportunity to have attended Lincoln with my fellow alumni and friends from the class of '73, as well the friends we made from the classes of '71, '72, '74, and '75. For me, the post-high school years were important. At CSU (Fort Collins), I matured a lot and learned some important life lessons about choices, friendships, interpersonal skills, diligence in studies, faith, etc. In retrospect, I am grateful for the people who came into my life during the university days, and the lessons I learned. (Note: As the decades have passed, I have continued to learn and discover different aspects of life in which I must still mature and grow.) Much of my career has involved journalism. After graduating from CSU, I worked for 2 years with the Sentinel newspapers in Fort Lupton and Brighton. Then, I earned an MA in English. After getting married, I joined the National OTC Stock Journal for 4 years, and learned about financial markets, low-priced and penny stocks. When our daughter was born, I changed to Waste Tech News, and then with the birth of our son moved into what became my career work as editor of Ultrapure Water Journal for 27 years, before transitioning to consulting in 2018. With UPW Journal, I also became involved with helping to organize around 60 conferences of differing sizes. Currently, I work with the Association of Water Technologies (AWT) as technical editor for The Analyst and other editing projects, and do work for a company that makes IX resins used in industrial, municipal, and high-purity water treatment. Since our days at Lincoln, I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and family, and the opportunity to travel (with my family and with work), and the chance to meet many interesting people involved in different aspects of water treatment and other areas of life.
