Mike's Story
I wasn't very popular at Foothill, was on the golf team for three years with Barry Hamilton, Mike Brooks, Charlie Babers and Ken Close. Went to the 20th reunion and nobody greeted me. Then at the 40th several rememered me. Went to UCSD, graduated with an Engineering degree. Worked for General Atomics in San Diego for 37 years. Got laid off and now am working for a machine shop as a Quality Engineer. Was married, had two children, now have 8 grand and one new great grand child. First wife passed away from breast cancer in 2002, married a friend of hers, been married to #2 for 12 years. Been traveling...Expand for more
to Europe nearly every year for vacation for the last 10 years. Bicycling in my main hobby. Did a coast to coast ride this past spring 2012, averaging 120 mpd for 20 days from San Diego to Brunswick, GA. Became a Christian in 1970 in the UCSD cafeteria as a result of two guys from Campus Crusade. Was a church treasurer for 30 years, taught Sunday School for 40 years, and still have a Bible Study at a retirement home every Sunday, joined the Gideons in 2011 and distribute bibles at schools several times a year. Plan on retiring Feb 2016 at age 64. Want to start playing golf again in the near future.
