Life
Hi, long time, no see! How have you been??
Here's what I've been up to since WHS. I went to Harper, then WIU. I discovered beer and became kind of the dorm mascot. Yes, I broke out of my shell and learned how to have fun. I also stopped going to classes and flunked out. After a series of odd jobs, I quit drinking and went back to school, graduating in just under 10 years (the accelerated plan).
I worked at Household Finance for 9 years, mostly in database marketing. Met my wife, Amy, at a really cool life-changing church called Vineyard Christian Fellowship.
Amy & I decided we wanted a smaller city; Chicago just got too big and congested. So we moved to Mpls in 1997, where I worked at Wells Fargo for a few years. Loved Minnesota, except the long winters. I ran my own business for a couple years (NotifyQuick), a notification service, which my niece now runs for me. It w...Expand for more
as fun being my own boss, but I missed having paychecks. So I went back to working for the man, getting a job at American General Finance in Evansville Indiana (on the Kentucky border) in 2003.
Amy and I have 3 kids: 11, 9 & 5. James is nearly 5 feet 4 already at age 11, so I guess he won't have to be a late bloomer like me. I've tried to teach him sports, but he would rather play computer games, which is fine. Beth is a sweetheart. I couldn't ask for a nicer girl. She's a state champion in judo, a little tougher than her Dad. And Laura, our surprise, is lots of fun. Parenting has its challenges... ADHD makes life hard for everyone in the house. We do our best, but feel like we are fighting a losing battle at times.
I'm into judo again - trying not to become an old fart. That's about everything. I hope your life is going well and you are making good choices.
Take care. Morgy.
