Life
Went to Augsburg College, majored in English, minored in Political Science, edited the school paper, played football and drank a lot of beer. In '85 left a career job at a publishing firm to work at horse shows in California. Since then I've done everything from bartending, umpiring and coaching to developing small businesses and directing a national marketing campaign for a major manufacturer. Jefferson City, MO (St. Kate's). Our daughter, Mary Murphy, is 9 and attends Nativity Catholic School in St. Paul. We're very active at church, with our families and close friends. I still sneek out to the tavern or to the neighbor's garage once a week or so to talk politics, sports, philosophy or amateur engineering. My hobby is tinkering in the garage and my life ambition is writing. Working on a novel and a series of essays about life on and around grandparent's farm.
