Mike's Story
Since I graduated in June,1978 from University of New Haven, I moved to California in August,1978 to San Diego to a Real Estate syndicate accounting job. I got promoted to assistant controller in 1980 and controller in 1981, We had over 400 employees and properties in Nevada, Hawaii,New Hampshire, Idaho and Wyoming.I went self employed from 1982 to 1989 and had savings and loans,banks, a book keeping service, a tax practice and a computer business. In 1989, I joined FASTTAX and stayed with them until February, 1998 when I joined Deloitte. ision of theirs. I left there in 2006 and went to KPMG as a tax manager and traveled the US to tax clients and the major insurance companies. In February, 2009 I joined Sears Holdings.
I helped with the Savings and loan industry before its collapse in 1988. I had clients in Texas, California, ,Missouri,Oregon, and Colorado and traveled throughout the 1980's where i met my wife who was working at ADP and a staff person of hers had messed up a client payroll of mine. Twenty eight years later, I am still married. Now with 2 grandsons and a new one on the way. I rarely get back to Connecticut, but all are welcome to visit if in the Chicago area.
