Mike's Story

It's been an interesting life since I left WCI and I'm sure most of my teachers (and some of my friends) would be amazed I ended up doing as well as I did. I had a lengthy career in the international logistics field I finally ending up as President & CEO of a large (70 offices, 1200 employees) publicly traded corporation PBB Global Logistics Inc. My work involved many trips to China including leading 3 trade missions and I was made an Honorary Professor of Guanxi University. I retired in 2005 at age 52 and turned my efforts to my investments and volunteer work. After 40 years in scouting I became the Chief Commissioner of Canada and Chair of the Board of Governors. I am currently the co-chair of the World Jamboree to be held ...Expand for more
in West Virginia in 2019 which will consist of about 50,000 participants for 12 days. I have worked with Niagara College for many years as a part-time teacher, board member and served as the Chair of the Board of Governors. During my business career I spent 8 years as an officer in the army reserve. I also spent 8 years as the Honorary Colonel of The Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment. In 2015 I was appointed the Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the 48th Highlanders of Canada. In 2008 I was made a member of the Order of Canada. I have 2 grown children, Stephanie and Ian and I now live in the old town in Niagara on the Lake. On July 24th, 2015 I married Manuela, an amazing lady I look forward to spending the rest of my life with.
