Mike's Story
After joining the Navy in '66, I spent my 1 tour (2 yrs) in Okinawa, as a Communication Tech. Post military, I married in '71, moved to Houston and had 1 child. This short lived relationship and subsequent life trauma's, led to finally finishing my BA at TAMU in '78. Afterf a few attempts in business over the next decade, I finally go the the nerve to get a real job.
Critical mass was achieved when a management position with Studebaker's in '82 landed me in Chicago. In '87, I decided that managing alcohol slingers had lost its glow. I left the night life for the commute wars from a Chicago suburb. An ensuing 20 year stint at Motorola as an International Logistics manager, an MBA from Lake Forest Grad. Sch of Mgt and on to another marriage. We have 2 boys, a 2 yr DePaul student and a Jr in HS. Both are Eagle Scouts and the wife is a VP of an irrigation company in the Chicago area. I finally gave up the 'employed' ghost and retired in '07.

M-Div from Liberty University. I have been called to ministry and currnetly serve a church plant in Killeen, TX while I commute from Chicago to TX monthly. My goal is an doctorate and teaching professor at somebody's Univiersity.
I am acutely aware that my purpose in life centers in serving the community at large. I try and make a difference where needs exceed resources. I seek to find new avenues of support those who have no voice.
I believe the Creator and His plan for me out weigh any of mine. So I belong to a church, I study the Word and I serve those I can help.
I have worked in BSA and served as a scout leader at all levels. I lead several NPO's activities and have created several Food Pantry, Homeless and Abuse Shelter fund raisers.
As a family, we try to be inviting to those in need, serve at our church using our gifts and attempt to bring joy, peace to all that we meet...oh, and have a blast while doing it! Laughing was God's idea first...after all He made the platypus, right?
