Mike's Story
4- 13-2012 Update: While I am still retired - (sort of) I am now serving a small Lutheran congregation in Farmersville, IL. I still live in Springfield, but drive there about twice a week, Great people and am happy to be able to shepherd this small flock. As of June 2019 I am also srving as the vacancy pastor of another small Lutheran church in Girard, IL. More fun. Feeling great and love to be busy about the Lord's wor\sk.
2-17-10 I'm retired! Did it in Nov of 06. Greatest/smartest decision I ever made! I had bypass surgery 3-05. I am a grandpa three and a half times (Hannah 5 and Blake 3 and Grant 9 mon). Daughter is expecting at the end of June - a girl. Both of my ...Expand for more
kids and their spouses live in Springfield - what a blessing for us!. My wife (Cindy) still teaches at Lutheran High in Springfield, IL. and is a recent author (2 books "Where do Angels Sleep?" and "The Resurrection". Check them out and let me know what you think. It's really good and I'm so proud of her.
We live on the outskirts of Springfield and I have enough yard work and putzy stuff to do to keep me busy.
Anybody who might want to contact me is free to do so. I live only 35 miles from Decatur and I know more than a few of you live there, but it never seems that there is time or inclination to call or stop by.
