Mike's Story
Life
I dont really know how to sum up my life to this point, being only 28. I have 3 kids 2 girls 7 and 5. One boy who is 6 mths, ow yeah and a wife thats 7 years deep. I have lived in TX,NC,AK,Iraq,Purto rico and now GA. The weather is great after Maine and Alaska I don't miss shoveling snow at all! I am looking forward to the reunion and will be coming up to ME 2-3 times this year for competion and to see some old friends. As far as me I have not changed that much. Just less hair and more bills. Well take care and I hope to hear you guys soon.
School
What to say about school? I had a great time. Some dumb stuff that I look back on like what the ^%&^ was I thinking? But thats part of the whole process I guess. 99% was outstanding.
College
I never went to formal school. I did a distance learning degree while in the Military, and have been to numerous Firefighting courses around the country like Technical Rescue, HazMat Tech, EMT, WMD Tech and others. I was actually a instructor for Texas A&M for awhile teahing Fire Officer and FireI nstructor courses for the University. Its probally just as good I did not go to a traditional university I would probally still be there as a sophmore lost tying to find my class I was late f...Expand for more

Workplace
I use to bag at the NAS brunswick commissary back behind the smoke pit. Then I moved up to flipping chicken at KFC. After Graduation I joined the military getting into the fire department. Upon getting out of the military fire department I joined the Air Force Reserve Fire Department, as well as a Civilian Fire Department which I am still doing to this day and hopefully forever. I ride truck company (if you dont know watch ladder 49), the one with the big ladder and its great. Very diverse you will have a fire and be doing rescue or ventilation, then a car wreck, then a HazMat, movies at the station. Some times we have no calls and play jokes all day on one another. I like it because it's a 2nd family or a frat house and every one is brothers, or dads depending on how old they are.
Military
Did almost 6 1/2 years in the Air Force. Been fortune it enough to be all over the world Canada, Mexico , Paris, amsterdam, Kuwait, Iraq, saudi, Dubai, Puerto rico, korea, japan, cyprus, azores, Ireland, germany, italy and some others. After I got out, I went into the reserves down in Charleston SC. It's good because they send me to schools and I get to keep traveling. Plus in the summer the Charleston beaches are great.
