Mike's Story
Life
Although I went to school in Evanston from 3rd-10th grade, I actually graduated from Permian HS in Odessa (TX). I was on the 5A State Championship football team my senior year. ( For more info--look for a an upcoming movie starring Billy Bob Thornton based on the football program at the school). I also competed as an amatuer bodybuilder for a year or two after I graduated.
I followed an adventurous route to college and graduated from the University of Alaska (magna cum laude) in 1997. I then went on to law school at the University of Oregon and finished in the top 15% of my clas...Expand for more

I currently work as a tenure track professor at a small university (Univ of Alaska--Southeast) and live in Juneau with my wife Karina and son 3 year old son River (and our lab Ghandi). We have another baby due soon.
When I am not writing articles or reading, my wife and I run a real estate investment company. I still think of Evanston and Odessa from time to time. They were great places to grow up.
