Mike's Story

Mr. Bozarth enjoyed a twenty-one year career at Accenture. He left as a Managing Partner in the Financial Services Industry Practice. After graduating from the University of Southern California in 1984 with a degree in Computer Science Engineering, he joined Accenture. He served as a Client Relationship Partner and Select Quality Review Partner at several key clients in North America and abroad. His clients are both domestic and international including some of the largest retail banks, lenders, and credit card companies in the world. He has spent his career in strategy, planning and the implementation of large-scale technology infrastructure programs. In addition, Mr. Bozarth actively represented Accenture in the American Banker Association and the Mortgage Banker Association of America. Highlights of his most recent accomplishments while at Accenture include: Recipient of the Accenture Client Quality Leadership Award in 1995 Promoted to full Equity Partner in 1996 In 1998 to 1999, he was responsible for the largest network infrastructure program ever completed by Accenture. In 2000 to 2002, he was responsible for Accenture¿s largest consulting services engagement in their Financial Services Practice. In 2003, Mr. Bozarth was admitted to the Global Leadership Council and awarded ¿Diamond Client Partner¿ status at Accenture. This last honor recognizes his client relationships and business contributions to be among the top 15 partners out of 2,500 partners worldwide. In 2003 to 2004, Mr. Bozarth was in charge of the Banking Industry Practice in North America. In this role he was responsible for the strategy and go-to-market approach for this practice. largest business contracts and acquisitions until his resignation in August 2005. Currently Mr. Bozarth¿s professional life is made up of a number of leadership roles: General Partner and Managing Director at Alumni Capital Network, a private equity investment firm with locations in New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles. Mr. Bozarth is responsible for the West Coast operations and is a member of the Investment Committee. Managing Member and Chief Executive Officer of Boz Design, LLC, an early-stage start-up company dedicated to manufacturing advanced designs for the automotive industry. Chairman of the Board of Directors at Downey Financial Corporation (Downey), a savings and loan holding company. Downey Savings and Loan Association (the Bank) is the Company¿s wholly owned subsidiary. Guest Lecturer at the USC Marshall School of Business where he has taught MBA courses on the Management Consulting Industry, and continues to guest lecture in Alliance & Cooperative Strategy and the Dean¿s Seminar on Entrepreneurship. In addition, Mr. Bozarth is holds Certificate of Director Education from the NACD Corporate Directors Institute and has been a corporate director of several private and public financial, technology, and services companies. Outside of work, Mr. Bozarth is an active member of the Historical Sports car Racing Association, the Southern California Offshore Performance Elite, United States Power Squadron, Catalina Island Conservancy, Lido Isle Yacht Club, Balboa Bay Club, and is a lifetime member of the Future Society. He is an SCCA accredited racecar driver and is currently competing in the HSR Rolex Endurance Series. He also collects and restores vintage cars and enjoys motor sports and board sports with his family. Mr. Bozarth is married, has two children, and is currently living in Tahoe.
