Mike's Story
Gloria and I met on April 27, 1977, when I finally took a deep breath, went to her house, and asked her for a date. She was at the kitchen sink, and I noticed a smile from her. She had a beautiful smile. A warm smile. I went to New Mexico State University and luckily graduated. Gloria and I married on June 25, 1983, in Fort Defiance. Our journey through life included over 30 years in the newspaper business from Window Rock, Phoenix, Boston, Niagara Falls, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and back to Farmington. re on their quest. Gloria and I were married for 37 years. She was a terrific mom. The kids remember her wisdom and teachings. I remember her warmth and gentle soul.
Gloria passed away in November 2020 due to COVID-19 complications. She was my world, my best friend, and my Valentine. She made me feel taller with the wind at my back. I was never cold with her. Now, the pursuit of retirement is ahead. The Lord has blessed our lives so much more than we deserve. I give thanks each day.
This is a brief history of our family. It all started at Window Rock High School band practice. Go in Peace.
