Mindy's Story
Life
After moving in my senior year, I left high school early (my sons love to remind me that technically I'm a high school dropout). I attended the University of Miami in Florida for 3 semesters then returned to Texas and graduated from UT-Austin. I moved to Dallas after graduation and met my husband, Jeff. We've been married since 1985. We have 3 sons (all Star Wars geeks like their mother). The older 2 are in college and the youngest is a junior in high school. Anyone who was in math class with me would not believe he's my kid.
We lived in Dallas until our oldest son was born, then moved to Aurora, Illinois(Jeff's home town). I worked on and off until we had son number three and I needed to get back to work since m...Expand for more
y brains were turning to mush (there's only so much Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers and Barney a person can put up with). We moved further north in 1994 - to Milwaukee, WI.
I love it here most of the time, but don't care for the winters too much. I'm looking forward to retirement so we can move back home.
Workplace
For the last 11 years I've been working for a family owned metal fabrication business handling the payroll and safety issues along with anything else that crops up. I really enjoy the challenge and since most payroll systems are computerized, no one is too worried about my lack of math skills (I don't know about anyone else, but I have yet to have the need to bisect an angle since Mrs. Bennett's geometry class.)
