After Millikan Junior High I attended Grant for two years then, suddenly, out of nowhere, was whisked away from the Valley when my family moved to Tucson, Arizona. I graduated from Palo Verde High School after two years, attended the University of Arizona for two years, transferred to Stanford University for two years (there's a pattern here) and then, after graduation, spent the next two years wandering through California, Arizona and Texas as a free-lance writer/editor. Unfortunately, being self-employed did not work for me: my business skills suck. I mean, *really* suck. So I moved back to Northern California and got a job at (hello again) Stanford. My plan was to work there briefly, a couple years at most, then move on.
