Mistie's Story
God is amazing. . .and life can be so interesting. I'm in a "small" city in the center of China, teaching ESL to university students and having a wonderful time!
In 1969 I was in South Africa for a few months, working in a mission hospital. Then in '92, I took my oldest son to Kenya to help build a university dormitory. I love Africa. . .actually i'm happy almost any place! It's not about the location, i just love people!
I have three terrific adult kids and two grandsons. The five-year old beats me at video games and the two-year old gives me a run for my money. . . guess i need more practice.

he National Military Command Center (the "war room" in the Pentagon) during Desert Shield/Storm and then wrote speeches for the Vice Chairman of the JCS! But i started as an enlisted psych clinic tech. . .
Recently finished four fantastic years of grad school (two masters, back-to-back) and finally realized that learning is wonderful. What a waste high school and college were when i just wanted to have fun and get by with as little studying as possible (was i the only one?).
Worked in sales/sales management, was a photojournalist for a chain of community newspapers and an associate pastor (until the divorce). Ran a homeless shelter--probably the most awesome job i've had--and did everything from cleaning the bathrooms to rocking the babies.
My life has been full. God has been gracious to me.
