Mitchel's Story
I was the captain and played baseball for the George Washington Baseball team. I was also selected to be on the Daily News all star team, when I was given the name of Nifty Swifty, I was batting second on the News team playing center field and leading the the News team with a 529 Batting Average. At graduation I was awarded the gold medal for athletics, what made it great f0r me and my family was I should not have even graduated with my class I was not a very good student, One or two of my teachers were nice enough to pass me so I could graduate with my class. tion. I played three years in there organization going 11 and 4 with a 1.83 ERA in 1970 pitching 133 innings that year, it was the lowest ERA in the organization. I live on Long Island with my beautiful wife. I have one daughter and twin grand daughters, who keep me very very busy. I miss my days at George Washington Playing ball hanging out at Leo's dinner with all my friends, those were some of the greatest times of all our lives., Glory Days Like the boss song when I think and talk about High School I think about throwing that speed ball by you make you look like a fool boy ,Glory Days will pass you by in the wink of a young girls eye.
