Mitchell's Story
Funny...Classmates want you all to get weepy and nostalgic for those "glory days" of high school. Truth is, I don't recall much of high school. Too many years have past to worry about the "then" while I'm looking forward to what I will deem "the glory years". Like a fog at sea that you can't see through but the radar can, and see the land beyond and know that once you get there all of the crap from the past can remain there...in the past.
It's amazing what 40 will do to you isn't it? Soon to be 41. Married to a wonderfull woman, living in a good home and looking forward to another retirement from a great job.
The odd aches and pains from a youth spent doing stupid things like jumping from aircraft to visiting damn near every country in the northern hemisphere (and a fair portion ...Expand for more
of the southern) are catching up with me. Scars, dents and dings worn like a room full of trophys.
I've done my share of hopping around the world, one hot spot to another or one bar to another. My wife says she wants to go see all the things I've shown her pictures of...Iceland, Finland, England, Russia, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, France, Germany, Poland, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Morocco, (maybe not...) Egypt, Isreal, India, Thailand, Singapore...etc. ad nauseum. Seems like TOO many places...now.
Retirement... Travel to Europe and live next to the Nurburgring and race cars all day. Might even buy a Ferrari 430. Maybe an R8...just to be on the safe side. That's my plan...visit every famous track in the world and drive sideways around it's corners...
