Moana's Story
I began my time at Jackson in the 8th grade. That was a long time ago. LOL
My homeroom teacher for my entire tenure was Ms Clendenin an older single lady with fake hairm, long yellowish finger nails and an intolerate manner.
First I must admit that I do not have a clear memory of everything that happened at Jackson. I do, however, have some very vivid memories.
I believe it was my first year that we HAD to take Speech and Drama in the same hour. Our teacher was my all time favourite...........Fred Fisher. I was PAINFULLY shy.
I was so shy that at the end of the semester we were told to write a one act play and turn it in before the end of the semester. Not turn iti in, read it aloud. DAMN Well, I did not have trouble writing it. It was about a boy I was attracted to who had moved to Tampa at the beginning of our semester.

ring so about him, It touched Mr. Fisher and he wanted me to present it to the class orally on Monday. (that class happened during that 3 hr lunchtime)
To say I was nervous would be the most of inadequate explanations. So on Friday I took my play home to practice per Mr. Fisher. He knew I was painfully shy.
Sunday night we got the news that Raymond (the boy) was "accidentally" shot to death by his best friend on Saturday. My father had ZIP sympathy, and all alone I grieved Raymond's murder with no understanding how it could happen.
Monday I parked outside Mr. Fisher's door and sobbing begged him to not make me give the speech. He was the most compasionalte male I had ever known and he told me that I could read it to him the next week.
To this day I have the deepest regard for Mr. Fisher's compassion. Besides he was a great teacher. So good that I mentioned him in my first published book.
