Mollie's Story

Life Okay, how to do this... I'm mainly in this for Carlisle High School, although if your from North Meck, I'd like to hear from you too! I moved to Carlisle in seventh grade and stayed there until the end of my Sophomore year. I had a hard time moving but I knew that due to the small area, it didn't have much to offer. So in a way I was glad to move, but I missed all of my friends and the close connections I had. I moved with my entire family to Huntersville, North Carolina and went to North Mecklenburg High School. With the classes being so big, it was hard to get to know lots of people. I stuck wtih Kerri, Caroline, and Susan (who if you read this, get hold of me!). We had a great time and I miss them dearly. After high school I went the UNCC. During my sophomore year I met my husband, Grant Smith and we married on May 9, 1997. We moved to Concord just for the safer area (than Charlotte) and the good housing prices that you need when you are newlyweds! We did not move here for the racing- I hate racing! In 1998 I graduated with a degree in Business Admistration with a focus in Marketing and went to work with GE Plastics. I enjoyed what I did but I am fine without the office politics. In Dec 1999 I had my son, Ethan Grant, and began my life as a stay at home mom. I do teach piano to keep my sanity and have something that is my own. In 2001 I had a miscarriage that put me into depression. The in 2002 I had a beautiful baby girl, Caitlin Rose. When she was a year old I was diagnosed with post partum depression and anxiety, but quickly got that under control and I'm glad that is a road I won't have to go down again! Then this past November (2005) I had Sabrina Kay. She is the smiliest baby in the world. She smiles all day long and I love her to death. Grant is a Senior Financial Analyst with Bank of America. He just changed positions so I'm not exactly sure what it is yet that he is doing, but he is excited! So, all in a...Expand for more
ll... I am very satisfied with my life. I have sacrificed a lot to stay at home with my kids but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love their smiles and all of the hugs and kisses that they give me. One day I'll go back into the adult world! I hope to be in some type of contracting. But this area of the country is wide open for careers and opportunity, so we'll see what happens. (and it is beautiful!) I teach piano lessons and range from 12-17 students. I love to do albums and organize pictures- I'm strictly Creative Memories. I also do wedding cakes upon request. Nothing advertised. Just word of mouth. I love to run, spin (cycling), lift weights, and stay active. I hope you'll see me on GMA when I am 75 and the only old lady with a body of a 30 year old (yeah right- wishful thinking)! I am happily married to my best friend. When the kids are gone with grandparents and we are by ourselves laughing and joking around I realize that we will have so much fun when we are old- our lives are just beginning! I stay active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I work with the 8-12 year old girls and play the organ (well, I'm learning...I like the piano better- there is a difference!) as for my extended family, Jason Guffey is married to a BEAUTIFUL girl named Shiloh (from Idaho). They have 4 kids (ages 5-4-2-1) and #5 is due in July 06. He currently works for Dome technologies and travels the country building domes. Jacob is married to Shiloh's younger sister, and just as beautiful, Cami. He works in the IT department at Carolinas Medical. Cami is a WONDERFUL hair stylist/artist. Suzanna is married to Chad Howard from California. They live in Concord NC also. She has 2 girls- Reese and Eden. She stays at home with them. Heather married Paul McKinney and they live in Huntersville NC. She works with Carolinas Medical at EastOver OBGYN. Amelia is almost 20- she is single but moving to Wilimington NC to go to school at UNCW
