Mollie Belcher:

CLASS OF 1982
Tyler, TX

Mollie's Story

Well lets see, right after I graduated in 1982 I got married 6 months later to the guy that I had been dating my senior year. I loved him very much and we were very happy for a long time. Unfortunately things ultimately did not work out and we were divorced in 1993 after being together for 11 years. It broke my heart because we had been together so long and he was my whole world, he was all that I knew and for a long time I was devastated. But like everything in life you move on eventuallly and I did. I was working full time from around 1990 as a pharmacy technician and living on my own and decided to go back to college to pursue a degree in criminal justice. My ex-husband was a police officer and I had become interested in that through him so I had decided that I wanted to do something in that field possibly either highway patrol or sheriffs office. While at school at TJC in Tyler I met and got to be friends with a guy in a few of my classes. We began to spend a lot of time together outside of school and eventually began to date. The rest as they say is history. We were married in Las Vegas in 1995 and have been together now for 13 years. Our first child, a boy, was born in 1999 and our second child, another boy was born in 2003. He is absolutely the best thing that ever ...Expand for more
happened to me and I love him very much. When my first son was six months old I decided to quit work and stay home with him and I am now a full time stay at home mom. It just didnt make sense to pay someone half or all of what I made to take care of my kids. Yes, money is tight sometimes but when one of my kids are sick or I need to take them to the dr then I can do it and dont have to worry about taking off from work. I did not have any kids from my first marriage and I waited a long time to have the two that I have so I want to enjoy them growing up and not be distracted by work and stress from all that. Lets see, what else, well my parents both are gone now. My Mom passed away in 1998, so she did not get to see or know my two boys and that still hurts because I know she would be so proud of them. My Dad passed away in 2006 and he did get to see my two boys and to know them so im grateful for that but I do miss them both so much, its very strange to be withour your Mom and Dad, even though iim 44 now and have my own kids I wish everyday that I could talk to them or just tell them some little things that the boys did. Well, guess thats it for now, hope you enjoyed reading up on me and please leave me a message to let me know how youre doing as well....Bye for now...Mollie
