Hi! I am class of '73, having graduated from Elyria High School, but from grades 1-6 I attended good old Huntington. I joined this site to find my best friend from elementary school, Beth Rice (and I found her--hooray!) After graduating high school, I moved on to community college (LCCC) and then Bowling Green State University, where I graduated in 1977 with a BS in Education. I began working in Lorain as a high school English teacher. In 1978 I married Jim Fisher, a young man I met at BGSU. At the time he was a dental student at Case Western Reserve University. After graduation, he served in the US Army as a dental officer, and I moved around with him for 24 years. We had four wonderful kids, all grown now. (Three are married, and the last plans to tie the know this October.) I have lived all over the U.S., and spent seven years in Germany, so I have seen enough of the world. While doing all that traveling, I still managed to finish a Masters in Education from SUNY Potsdam in 1993. I did a lot of volunteer work in schools, military chapels, Boy Scouts, and the community, and a little subbing, too. In 1997 I moved to West Point, NY (United States Military Academy), and stayed in the area for 10 years. I worked in the Academy Library and also in the learning center (CEP). Jim and I were separated in 2002, and divorced in 2004. During the separation I began seeing one of my colleagues, Ed Pelkey, socially, and we really hit it off. A couple of months after the final divorce decree, Ed and I married. That should have been a recipe for disaster, I know, but guess what? It wasn't! Ed is a great husband.
