Mona's Story
Life
Oh let's see. Those who knew me in high school figured I'd never be alive to hit 20 I think. Haaa. Well scarey as this may sound, I did make it, and finally grew up.
Right now I'm engaged to a wonderful man down here in Dallas and we have a house full of critters that we just adore.
For the first 11 years after high school (after the age of 21 actually) I worked in Public Safety. Meaning on an ambulance to start with, then I moved over to working for the police department as a dispatcher, and finally in addition to that I was a Reserve Police Officer (Fully trained, authorized and commissione...Expand for more
d Officer for the state of Colorado). However, being a "Reserve" meant volunteering. Yup, doing it for free. Getting fought with, yelled at, spit on, shot at, you name it...alllll for free. Yes I know, I burned several brain cells back in school as is evidenced by this hee hee
Down here in Dallas I am working & volunteering at the American Red Cross. I'm a part time instructor, and I'm also starting on their disaster team (think major disasters). We respond to help out with displaced families have immediate shelter, food & drink, support and assistance to get back on track.
I think that's about it!
