Mona's Story
I'm will enjoy reading about all of you fom the Class of 55.
Last month, June 2015, my daughter and I spent a week in Oregon with an overnight in Cottage Grove at The Viillage Green (where the picture with the roses was taken) and a week on the coast brom Brookings to Astoria, Our trip highlight was the 104 mile Rogue River Jerry's Jetboat trip! --- on my bucket list for 50 years! On to dune buggy ride in Florence and a 3-hour Columbia River cruise. Met my sister, Karol Funk Rank and her husband Ted in Florence for the rest of our trip. Got to see nephew Scott Shepherd and his wife Kimberly in Cottage Grove..Was really good to see Patsee Parker, too.
I'm still working as an administrative assistant for the local senior non-profit corporation which owns and operates 12 units of senior apartments ...Expand for more
and buses which take folks to Soldotna and Kenai weekly for shopping and appointments. And still working with local history and the museum which is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
My 3 sons and their famiies, for the most part, live in Alaska within 100 miles. i have 15 grandchildren (I count spouses) and 6 great-grandkids. My daughter and her family are in the Lower 48. Looking forward to a trip to Scotland and Ireland in Sept. with my husband, Larry, daughter Kathy, and one of my sister-in-laws.
Several family membets are helping us re-roof our log house starting today. I'll see big changes when I get home this evening!
We enjoy the tour groups from Kenai Princess Wildnerness Lodge who come to see the local "old-timers.". Many are from the UK and Australia, our favorite places to visit.
