Monica's Story
Life
I moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 2005 with my husband, Jeff, and our son, David. We purchased two Subway franchises and were living the life of business owners. Unfortunately, it proved difficult on our marriage and I am now divorced. It's been quite an adventure but I love being up here. The skies are blue and the freeways are clear; no more California craziness! I wanted to get out of the "rat race" and look at retiring a little earlier in life so I can travel. I get a little homesick but not enough to move back. I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity and feel very fortunate to have gotten this one. family member not here is my brother. Having family close by is wonderful. My mom now works for me! I never thought I'd be an entrepreneur with 10+/- employees! I look forward to the next reunion - maybe a 25 year one.
UPDATE 12/09: I moved back to So Cal in 5/09 due to my divorce and the need to be close to family and friends. My ex and I have agreed to co-parent and raise our son, David, close to family so he can grow up with his cousins, etc. Though not an easy move, it was one that I believe was well worthwhile in the best interest of my son. I'm back in "Crazy California" until my son is raised. Who knows where adventures will take me after that!
