Monica's Story
After graduating from John Adams I attended Bowling Green State University where I received a Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education, and Kent State for a Masters degree in Motor Behavior. I taught Health and P.E. In the Cleveland Public School System for 29 years. The first two at Empire Junior High before coming back to John Adams to teach and coach volleyball, cross country, and track and field until it's closing in 1995. I contnued teaching in the school system at John Marshall and coached at Beaumont School for girls until retirement in 1999. eld coaching staffs, and travel internationally. Having been blessed to coach several outstanding high school athletes and teams, upon retiring from the school system I was given the opportunity to coach at the college level at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN where I presently live. I retired from full time coaching at Purdue in 2011.
However I have been able to stay close to the sport I love, presently serving as the Meet Director for all home competitions for Purdue's Cross-Country and Track & Field programs. Retirement has also given me the opportunity to continue traveling internationally as a staff member on mission trips with Athletes in Action to Africa, South America, and most recently South Korea.
