Monica's Story
Life
Life is good these days. I have a beautiful baby girl named Sophie and own a home in Olive Branch .
I went through a "party phase" right after high school (what with Sorority & college & all), but finally decided to chill once I turned 25. I am a single mother & find it difficult to make it some months, but we are not on welfare & so far, the Lord has provided for us just fine. I am a member of Graceland Christian church, where I keep the Nursery on Sundays. My daughter & I are healthy & happy & we have plenty for which we are grateful.
School
Collierville Elem. was a nightmare...mostly due to the abuse I endured from my 5th grade teacher. Looking back, it's sad how cruel kids can be at the influence of an adult.
Collierville Middle was wonderful, though. Those were some of the best days of my childhood. My parents got divorced right before high school, though, so I had to move back to midtown (which is where I went to school before coming to Collierville in the 3rd grade). riends behind, and how it hurt not to graduate with my friends.
I did quite well in midtown at Central High School. I was very active in Drama & the school newspaper. I graduated with Honors. I made lots of new friends at Central High and even reconnected with some of the friends from my "pre-Collierville" days (if that makes any sense).
Life was a lot easier in high school, but I wouldn't exactly say I'd want to do it all over again. "Fitting in" was a big deal back then & I don't think I was very good at it. Funny how the things that were so important back then, are at the opposite end of the scale these days.
Regretfully, I am not as in touch with my high school friends as I like to be. Maybe this website will help. I still miss Collierville & I get very nostalgic sometimes, especially when I scroll through the Classmates.com. I would love to hear from my friends from high school...Teresa, Dan, Andrew, Peter, Noah, Lillian, Jenny, Jennifer & Jennifer (just to name a few)...where the heck are ya?
